The Jubilee Year 2025
Every 25 years the Church celebrates a Jubilee, a Holy Year of renewal, forgiveness, and pilgrimage. At its heart are Rome’s four Holy Doors, opened only during Jubilee years as doorways to forgiveness and passages from the ordinary into a new life with God.
This Jubilee is also marked by history. Pope Francis opened the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica, but it will be his successor who closes it in January 2026. A rare passing of the Jubilee between two Popes.
